Visite de Shimon Peres

Le president de l'Etat d'Israel Shimon Peres a effectue une visite au centre de l'etat major de l'armee israelienne a Tel Aviv.
“The country must value the work done by the members of the IDF who risk their lives for the security of the nation, and I am sure that the nation does value and gives thanks for the job you do,” said President of Israel Shimon Peres, to the members of the General Staff Forum during a visit to the Kiryah military base in Tel Aviv, this morning (Monday).
The visit began with an honor guard parade welcoming the President. Following the parade, the President met the members of the General Staff Forum which includes the Minister of Defense Ehud Barak. Later in the day, the President is expected to be briefed on IDF operations and will visit the old Prime Minister's office in which David Ben-Gurion once held office.
“What you see here today is a strong and well-trained army, facing challenges and implementing the lessons learnt from the previous war”, explained Minister of Defense Ehud Barak to President Peres during his visit.
