Consideration of the Shoah causes us to ask the Eternal Questions of how the Destruction could have been allowed to occur' What behaviors facilitated or impeded it' What made Bystanders choose the course that they did' What made Rescuers risk their own lives to save people they often did not even know' How can we understand the choices that each made and the influences that impacted them' And how can we understand our own roles in our world'
This program examines the influences upon Bystanders and Rescuers during the Shoah in attempt to develop an insight into the motivation of each group. It asks that participants consider times when each has been a Bystander and a Rescuer and the influences that went into their decision to play their role.
This program also offers a way of learning about one selected martyr of our people of the 6,000,000 who perished and concludes with the shared ritual of kaddish.
