I recently met an Egyptian writer called Nonie Darwish, the founder of the unlikely sounding Arabs for Israel. What makes her story so amazing is that her father was a senior Egyptian military leader (and founder of the Palestinian Fedayeen) who was killed by the Israelis, and Darwish had grown up being taught to hate Jews.
