Rien à ajouter aux propos de Salman Rushdie.  De nos jours même la simple constatation que le monde est en train de changer radicalement, notamment - pour le meilleur ou le pire dans le monde arabe - est difficile à admettre.  Il est plus facile de continuer à alimenter ses petites obsessions sur Israël (comme Elie Barnavi, JCALL, Stéphane Hessel, le Monde Diplomatique, etc etc.).  Il est vrai que porter un regard lucide sur le changement de notre monde fait peur et pendant qu'on se focalise sur Israël on ne pense pas aux menaces qui pourraient nous affecter profondément.

And we should be looking at that instead of obsessing [about Israel]. If you look at what is happening in Egypt right now, there is not a single person in Egypt who says they would want to change the policy regarding Israel.  The new people [post-Moubarak] aren't saying they are going to break treaties.  The point is there is a revolution happening in the world and we are looking away from that towards a kind of old quarrel.  And we should be looking at the new world that we could help bring into being."
